The ( p , L , s , B ) Distribution : A Selection Scheme For Ranked Populations
نویسنده
چکیده
A bilinear selection scheme for ranked populations is presented. The deVelopment of the selection scheme is motivated by the desire for a generationally dependant selection mechanism that can be adjusted in an intuitive manner. The selection mechanism is dehned by a four parameter (p, l, c, B) bilinear cumulative probabiliry distribution. Expressions for the mean and variance of the proposed bilinear distrrbution are developed along with expressions for takeover time. The mean and variance equations derived for the proposed bilinear distribution are equated with those for tournament selection for tournament sizes ranging from 2 to 10. It is shown that simple superposition of the proposed bilinear disbibution allows one to approximate more complex cumulative probability distributions in an efficient manner. Expressions for the mean and variance for two superimposed bilinear distributions are provided. The resulting multil inear selection mechanism (pi, l i , c;, B;,1), is shown to be efficient to program and allows for uncoupled contol of the section pressure and selection variance in a dynamic and intuitive maruler.

Mitochondrial DNA characterization of Sergentomyia sintoni populations and finding mammalian Leishmania infections in this sandfly by using ITS-rDNA gene
Sergentomyia sintoni is the natural vector of Sauroleishmania species of lizards. This sandfly isabundance in and around the burrows of great gerbils. S. sintoni was collected from peridomestic animalshelters, inside and around houses and also from the nearby burrows of the gerbil reservoir hosts,Rhombomys opimus, in several provinces of Iran. Mitochondrial Cytochrome b (Cyt b) of sandflies, wh...

Ranked Set Sampling (RSS) is a statistical method for data collection that leads to more efficient estimators than competitors based on Simple Random Sampling (SRS). We consider testing the correlation coefficient of bivariate normal distribution based on Bivariate RSS (BVRSS). Under one-sided and two-sided alternatives, we show that the new tests based on BVRSS are more powerful than the usua...

In order to have successful application of genomic selection, reference population and marker density should be chosen properly. This study purpose was to investigate the accuracy of genomic estimated breeding values in terms of low (5K), intermediate (50K) and high (777K) densities in the simulated populations, when different scenarios were applied about the reference populations selecting. Af...
متن کاملGenetic Similarities Among Iranian Populations of Festuca, Lolium, Bromus and Agropyron Using Amplified Fragments Length Polymorphism (AFLP) Markers
The study of genetic variation and phylogenetic relationships is essential for the efficient selection of superior plant material and conducting introgression breeding programs. In Iran, despite the wide geographical distribution of grasses no report is available on the genetic diversity and relationships of cool season grass populations. In this study amplified fragment length polymorphism (AF...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of Wireless Cooperative Networks with Iterative Incremental Relay Selection
In this paper, an iterative incremental relay selection (IIRS) scheme is considered for wireless cooperative networks in order to increase the reliability of transmission. Different from the conventional incremental relay selection which incrementally selects a best relay for only one iteration; the IIRS scheme iteratively applies the incremental relaying and relay selection processes. To evalu...
